The Institute of Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry (IOMC) is looking for a dedicated and motivated

Post-Doctoral Researcher

to strengthen our interdisciplinary team for a sustainable polymer and particle platform.

Polymers and polymer particles are integral components of modern technologies, such as agriculture, the pharmaceutical, and biotechnologies. They protect sensitive active ingredients (vitamins, pheromones, genetic material) and enable their controlled release, leading to longer shelf life and higher efficacy. This project, funded by the Joachim Herz Foundation is dedicated to developing environmentally friendly and AI-optimized production processes for polymer particles. We utilize an innovative platform that combines technologies and procedures to develop tailor-made solutions for various applications, laying the groundwork for impactful future translations into real-world applications and potential new ventures.

Your responsibilities:

    • Work on interdisciplinary research project involving chemists, pharmacists, material scientists and computer scientists.
    • Large-scale and high-throughput formulation in an automated process (robotic platforms)
    • Project planning, project coordination, experimental work, reporting, and communication

Your profile:

    • A PhD in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials or Polymer Sciences
    • A solid background in analytical measurement principles
    • Experience in particle formation and polymer science is of advantage
    • Enthusiasm to play an active role in the interdisciplinary research team with focus on translation
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

The advertised position is initially limited to May 2026, extensions are planned. This is a full-time position with 100% (40 hours per week).
