The Institute of Nutritional Sciences, Division of Nutritional Toxicology seeks to fill the position of a

PhD Student Nutritional Toxicology – DNA Damage and Repair

commencing from 01 November 2023 or later. We offer a part-time position (65%, 26 hours per week), initially fixed-term for up to 3 years.

Your responsibilities:

    • Work on a research project towards understanding the role of DNA repair in the protection against genome damaging substances with a focus at dietary carcinogens
    • Support of teaching activities in Nutritional Toxicology
    • Contribution to scientific publications and presentations at research conferences in the field
    • Work on an own scientific qualification project, e.g. doctorate

Your profile:

    • Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences or a related discipline (e.g., Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Toxicology)
    • Good command of German and English
    • Teamwork skills, organisation, and self-motivation
    • Interest in nutrition sciences, genetic toxicology and genome maintenance mechanisms
