The Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences seeks to fill the position of a
Full-time (40 hours per week) according to TV-L E 14 and is limited to 31.03.2029.
The CZS junior research group is funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation (www.carl-zeiss-stiftung.de), co-financed by the FSU Jena and the HZB. In addition to the position of junior research group leader, the junior research group is equipped with a total of seven doctoral positions (each 3 years, 0.67 full-time equivalents) and one technician position (1.0 full-time equivalent). In addition, the junior research group is supported by another technician (0.5 fte). Furthermore, very attractive funds for materials and consumables as well as travel are available, as well as initial equipment for the laboratories. The first-class equipment of the CEEC Jena can be fully used. A significant joint use of the newly acquired electron microscopic devices is also planned for the junior research group.
This junior research group will be very closely involved in the Joint Lab "Polymer-based Energy Storage Devices and Energy Conversion" (FSU Jena and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin) and will work closely with the research groups of the CEEC Jena.
The call is an "open topic" call and includes the following possible research topics:
Topic 1: AI as a platform for material development of polymer-based batteries
Topic 2: Polymer materials based on sustainable resources for energy storage and conversion devices
Topic 3: CO2 as a building block for new polymer materials in energy storage and conversion
Topic 4: Novel sustainable encapsulation materials for the next generation of photovoltaics
The junior research group to be established should conduct research in at least one of these areas.
The position is initially limited to 31.03.2029. This is a 100% full-time position (40 hours/week).
