The Institute of Geosciences of the Faculty for Chemistry and Geosciences at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena seeks to fill the position of a
commencing on March 1, 2025.
We offer a full-time position (40 hours per week), initially offered as a fixed-term position. An extension is possible.
At the Professorship for General and Applied Mineralogy (https://www.igw.uni-jena.de/allmin), a wide range of topics is addressed - from the areas of mineralogy of mining waste and oxidation zones of ore deposits, thermodynamics and crystallography of minerals and technogenic products, biomineralogy, mineralogy and geology of ore deposits and the history of mineralogy, especially in central Germany. We are open to innovative research work and directions in broadly defined fields of mineralogy and geochemistry, even if they are not listed here.

The advertised position is initially offered as a fixed-term position for a maximum of 2 years. There is a possibility for an extension. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
In principle, the job is also suitable for part-time employment. The extent to which a part-time request can be granted, in particular with regard to the location and scope of the part-time work, will be assessed on the basis of the needs of the service.
