The Institute of Mathematics seeks to fill the position of a

• Independent research in convex and integral geometry with the goal of completing a doctoral degree
• Teaching at the Institute in a scope of three semester hours per week
• Active participation in the research group, including assistance with the organisation of the research seminar as well as scientific conferences and workshops

• An excellent university degree in mathematics
• Interest in geometric problems related to convexity; applicants are ideally expected to have written a thesis in a relevant area (for example differential geometry, geometric analysis, or discrete geometry)
• The ability to teach in German or English is required, as is the willingness to acquire whichever language skills are currently lacking
